App for authenticating transactions
FirstToken is a free finance and digital authenticator app by FirstBank Nigeria, a banking institution established in 1894. With it, you can authenticate transactions in a blink of an eye without worrying about losing your physical token. However, this app is not for users outside of Nigeria or West Africa.
Easy authentication
FirstBank Nigeria uses both physical—which can be availed on the bank itself—as well as digital tokens to create security codes. With FirstToken, you don’t have to use the former to authenticate transactions—ensuring a hassle-free experience and reducing your likelihood of losing your token.
To activate your digital token, provide your debit or ATM card number and PIN and wait for the app to send an OTP. Then, type your OTP and token’s PIN and you’re good to go. However, this program is only for Nigerian and West African users.
Hassle-free app
Overall, FirstToken is a must-download app for authenticating transactions without using a physical token—which can be misplaced if you’re not careful. However, overseas users won’t be able to use the app as it is only for those living in Nigeria and West Africa.
